Rita Louise Sobkowiak

Rita Sobkowiak, born on February 5, 1937, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Sobkowiak. Rita was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

Rita is survived by her three devoted children: Susan Thomas and her husband Tres Thomas, Rick Sobkowiak and his wife Damaris Abush, and Beth Sobkowiak. Her legacy continues through her three grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart: Brea Fullerton and her husband Adam Fullerton, Brogan Gerard and her husband John Gerard, and Grayson Sobkowiak. She was also the proud great-grandmother to Harrison Fullerton.

Rita's life was a testament to the power of love and family. Her home was a gathering place filled with warmth and laughter, where she created countless memories with those she held dear. Her nurturing spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Rita's dedication to her family was unparalleled, and she took immense pride in the accomplishments and happiness of her children and grandchildren.

Her family will be gathering for a private ceremony on December 24th in honor of her always having a house full of loved ones during the holiday season.
