Marjorie Crutchfield Wells

Marjorie Crutchfield Wells, 93, passed away January 15, 2023 in Charlottesville, VA. Marjorie was born to George Helms and Marjorie (Weile) Crutchfield in Richmond, VA on March 7, 1929. She attended St. Catherine’s school in Richmond and finished high school in Bronxville, NY. She graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with a degree in psychology. Marjorie’s passion for life and love of the ocean led her to Newport, RI where she was a loyal member of Trinity Episcopal Church for over 25 years. Marjorie is survived by one son, Peter S. Wells, Jr. and wife Dawn of Loveland, CO; granddaughter, Sally Aldrin and great-granddaughter, Isabelle Stumpf, of Haiku, HI; and nephew Charles William Hartman Jr. of Charlottesville, VA. She also leaves grand and great-grand nieces. She was pre-deceased by her parents and two aunts, her sister Nancy Merrill; her nephew Mason Hartman and her niece-in-law Karen Hartman.

A graveside service will be held for the immediate family at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond on February 2. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church in Newport, RI (www.TrinityNewport.org)
