Betty resided in Charlottesville, Virginia for over 40 years where she taught violin and piano students in a private studio. Betty taught hundreds of music students, some of whom became professional performers and music teachers themselves. Betty organized a concert called “Water Music”, a performance by many young musicians which donated its funds to dig wells in Africa. She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed many activities in the UVA community. She had a great facility for making friends and cherished the many students she taught through the years. Her parents, Rush Robinson Gross and Maude Stallings Gross preceded her in death. The family wishes to thank Ann Rodig and Iris Potter for all the friendship and care shown to Betty, especially during the last several years. Betty is survived by cousins Charlie and Gigi Woolf, Beverly and Mark Ledford, Carl and Janice Sharpe, Philip and Donna Sharpe, Lynne and Donnie Butler, and Nancy and Charles Mason. Miss Gross will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
