He graduated from Springdale High School, Springdale, PA and attended Grove City College where he starred as a pitcher on the baseball team.
He started his career in Washington, DC as an aide to Congressman Robert J. Corbett (R-Pennsylvania) and later worked as a top aide on the US House Post Office and Civil Service Committee.
He loved playing golf and was a long-time member of International Country Club in Fairfax, VA.
In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joan Cunliffe Raymond and his brother, Louis Raymond. He is survived by his brother Frank Raymond; his two sons, Louis and Paul, of Charlottesville, Virginia, and their wives, Stefanie and Kelly; and five grandchildren, Perry, Natalie, Sofie, Davis and Georgia. Anthony is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Saint Thomas Aquinas University Parish, 401 Alderman Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903 on Wednesday July 14th at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tony’s name to Ebenezer Baptist Church, 113 6th Street NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
