Adam Cameron Brown, 36, of Charlottesville, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Adam was born on August 22, 1984. He was the son of Douglas Timothy Brown and Harriet Clare Cobb. He grew up in Harrisonburg, Virginia where he had a happy and active childhood. Adam was a skilled soccer player whose left footed goals confounded opponents throughout his youth.
Adam graduated from Harrisonburg City Public Schools and James Madison University, where he earned a degree in accounting. He was employed by the University of Virginia as a Business and Finance Specialist in the Department of Intramural Recreational Sports.
Adam took joy in spending time with his parents and their extended families. He traveled extensively with his mother, and he particularly loved boating and fishing with his father. Adam had numerous friends with whom he spent time, and he treasured their shared experiences.
Adam was particularly devoted to his pet dachshund, Doc. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved. At work, he was diligent, ethical, creative, and visionary.
Adam was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet Clare Cobb of Harrisonburg, and his aunt, Barbara Schnackenberg of Chicago.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Elizabeth Franklin Brown as well as his stepfather, Ronald Edward Reeve and his wife, Louise DeCamp Reeve, stepbrother Adam Reeve, and stepsister Amanda Hodgson (Chris).
Adam also is survived by his uncles Gregory Brown (Sandy), and Jeffrey Brown (Stephanie), his aunts Suzanne Brown and Sarah McDonald (Rick), as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Adam’s memory may be made to an animal shelter or a mental health agency of your choice.
