Yvonne Phifer

Yvonne Hinsdale Phifer, 76, passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2014. Born on November 4, 1938 in Cane Creek, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Beryl Woody Hinsdale.

Yvonne married her sweetheart, Johhny Phifer on April 9, 1966. Mrs. Phifer enjoyed the simple things in life. Her joy's were taking care of her home, friends, traveling to the beach, her Queen City Model "A" Car Club, but most importantly, her family.

Mrs. Phifer was a long time member of Oakhurst Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Cherise Elder of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Mandy Phifer of Marshville, North Carolina, Anne Bilby of Albany, New York; and son, Tony Creede of Sumter, South Carolina . She is also survived by six grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Phifer will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 10, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, 732 Indian Trail-Fairview Road, Indian Trail, North Carolina 28079. A visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday, November 9, 2014, McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the JoVonne Foundation, a non-profit foundation which supports charities that were close to Mrs. Phifer's heart. Checks may be mailed to 801 North Forest Hill School Road, Marshville, North Carolina.
