Willie Mae Houston Ford

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, in the Rotunda of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with The Reverend Rusty Benton officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Born May 30, 1923 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, Mrs. Ford was the daughter of the late Daniel J. Houston, Sr. and Pearl Stilwell Houston. She worked at Belk’s before marrying Ralph Dewitt Ford on February 1, 1957.

Mrs. Ford is survived by her daughters, Cindy Ford, Cathy Ford and Carol Carriker (Scott); her brother, D. J. Houston, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Kevin and Elizabeth Carriker. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her brother, George Houston.

Mrs. Ford was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank Cheryl, Mary, Rosa and Tosha at Clear Creek Nursing and Rehab. for taking good care of her. Thank you also to the Mint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue for their services.
