Bill is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Emogene (Puddin) Darnell of Pineville; children, Connie Gallman of Chesney, SC, Denise Hardy of Peoria, IL, and Starr Collins of Mt. Holly, NC; 8 grandkids; 10 great-grandkids; sister, Phylis Bolton of Charlotte; several nieces and nephews; and beloved pets, Suzie (dog), Ruckus, Socks and Raif (cats).
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 2:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to West Mecklenburg Baptist Church, 9917 Old Dowd Road, Charlotte, NC 28214, in Bill’s name.
