Mr. William C Keener

Mr. Keener, age 89, of Charlotte departed this earth on November 14, 2018. He was born September 15, 1929 in Charlotte, NC to Ernest Theodore Keener and Margaret Cline Keener. Ted was in the Marines and Army National Guard. He joined his brother, Pat, and father, Ernest, in running Keener's Gulf until he retired in 1988.

During his entire life Ted was a loyal member of Chadwick United Methodist Church, which merged to form Assurance United Methodist Church in 1996. He was a lifelong member of Paw Creek Legion Post 353. He was an avid supporter of the Veterans from Salisbury. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a very loyal and dependable man.

Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn West on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Lonnie Pittman officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.

Ted was preceded in death by his loving wife of 24 years, Betty Walker Keener; his brother Ernest Paschal (Pat) Keener (Ellen); and great-grandson William Buchanan.

He is survived by daughters Pam Ledbetter (Claude), Terrie McCarthy (Mike); six grandchildren; Ashley McCarthy, Jennifer Finch (Mike), Nicole Swanson (Mike), Scott Ledbetter (Brian), Amber Jennings (CPT. Jeffrey Jennings), and Chris McCarthy (Shay); and great-grandchildren Emily Buchanan, Jacob Buchanan, Ashton McCarthy, Leilani Swanson, Lucas Swanson, Liam Swanson, Wyatt Jennings, Jacob Jennings; and great-great grandson Terrence Williams.
