He grew up in Charlotte and graduated from Paw Creek High School. He won many awards as a Golden Gloves heavyweight boxer and was a charter member of Moore’s Chapel Fire Department. Red was a proud veteran of the US Army where he served during WWII in the South Pacific and North Africa.
He retired from The Campbell-Brown Company in Charlotte where he was a sales representative for more than 27 years and, a charter member of Garden Memorial Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Clara B. Wallace Husband; brother, Robert Husband and sister, Jean James.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Bill Husband; daughter, Willene Lawrence and husband, Allen; Sherry Welch and husband Steve;
grandchildren, Angela Love and husband Zane, Camille Young and husband David; Ashlie Miller and husband Chad, Dustin Hughes and wife Michelle, Paige Tennant and husband Adam; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Lindsey Love, Leah Young, Chase Miller, Josiah Miller, Asher Miller, Clara Arrowlyn Miller, River Hughes, Cash Hughes, Olivia Tennant, Wesley Tennant, Hudson Tennant and Caleb Tennant.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Forest Lawn West Chapel, Mr. Jim Johnson, Reverend Rob Chambers and Pastor Chad Miller officiating. Entombment will follow the service in Forest Lawn West Cemetery Mausoleum with Military Rites. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home
