William A. Bolen, Jr. “Bill”, 69, of Charlotte, was called to his eternal home on July 6, 2014. Bill was a 1967 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration and served six years in the Army National Guard in South Carolina and Mississippi. He retired from Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc. after 30 years as a medical sales representative in the Patient Care division where he was a member of the Ring Club and later the Sons of the General.
Bill’s life was a testament to his faith and its significance in his life. As an active member of Advent Lutheran Church in Charlotte, Bill held various leadership positions, was a bible study teacher and an usher captain. As an extension of his faith, Bill was also an active member of the Eastern North Carolina Via de Cristo community.
Bill’s love for his wife, family, and friends was foremost in his life. He had a special gift for cultivating and maintaining relationships. His caring heart and genuine concern for others will leave a lasting legacy for all whose lives he touched. His quick wit, sense of humor, and caring personality were his most memorable qualities. Bill was an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Carolina Panthers, but his real passion was supporting his grandson’s baseball teams.
