Tom W. Roebuck

Thomas Wayne Roebuck, born December 29, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Albert Samuel Roebuck and Eleanor Willey Roebuck, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Tom attended Shelby City Schools and Shelby High School and graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He was a Captain in the United States Army at the time he was honorably discharged. Professionally, he worked in the printing business at Washburn Graphics and retired in 1991. He is preceded in death by his wife, Harriette Gay Roebuck; sister, Barbara R. Morgan; brother-in-law, O. Jack Morgan; and step-mother Jeanette Roebuck Bost. He is survived by daughter, Leslie T. Nix (Harvey); sons, J. Eric Thomas (April) and Bill Thomas (Theresa); “Papa” to his beloved grandchildren, Dalton, Ethan, Ryan, Joel, Laura, Alaine, Austin, Adam, Abby, Casey, and Cameron; brothers, Mike and Alan Roebuck; niece, Eleanor Morgan; nephews, Joe and Jim Morgan, all of Shelby, NC. A funeral service will be held at McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212, on Wednesday, February 4, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Keith Bingham officiating. A private graveside service will follow for family at Evergreen Cemetery.
