Teresa Gaddy Kennedy

Teresa Lynn Gaddy Kennedy, a lifelong resident of Charlotte, NC, passed away at 58 with her kids and family surrounding her.

She is survived by her five children, Rhonda Wilkinson and husband Tony Wilkinson, Travis Kennedy, Dallas Small, Preston Small and Dana Pittman; her father, Ed Gaddy Jr.; her sisters, Kim Bowman and Lisa Hudson; and her brother, Darrell Gaddy. She is preceded in death by her son, Scotty Lee Gaddy and mother, Janet Hammonds

Teresa was born on March 5, 1963. She worked as a server throughout the Charlotte community. She worked hard to provide for her six kids as a single mother. Being a mom was her greatest joy and by far she will tell you her greatest accomplishment.

She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, Maw maw, Aunt and friend. She loved just being with her kids. She taught them everything about yard sales and thrift stores. She would wake them up early on Saturday and go get a lightly cooked biscuit and just search neighborhoods for yard sales. She would love to turn on country music and cook. She had the most amazing food - old fashioned country cooking that we will miss forever. But her favorite part was desserts, especially banana pudding. The simple things made her light up and that’s what we will remember. Her smile. Her lighting up.

A memorial service for Teresa will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 4:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
