Sylvia was preceded by her father and mother, CJ Smith and Bert Smith and her two brothers Kenneth and Steve Smith. Last but not least she was preceded by her husband of 58 years, Bill R. Pigg, Sr. Bill, was the love of her life and he loved and adored her!
She went to Central High School then East Meck High School for graduation. Her husband's family lived right in front of her family's home in Oakhurst. She loved to tell stories of how he would run home from her house after it got dark. She said he ran home like something was after him.
Sylvia continued her education after high school and completed secretarial school. Then she went to work for Combustion Engineering. Later she worked for Sea Land Corp and Puerto Marine Management in Charlotte. She eventually started her own small logistics company where she worked until she retired.
Sylvia and Bill were both a big influence on their son Billy's life. She was a small woman in stature but she could definitely hold her own! She loved so many and was loved by so many. As old age rolled up on her, she developed Dementia. Bill took her everywhere with him. They loved to travel!
Billy cherished the time he cared for her after his father passed away. He got to be with her in her 'twilight' years. The love Billy has for both parents is immeasurable. Now they are together again and burning up the roads together!
