She was born to the late Herbert Pearson Johnson and Viola Rundell, December 10, 1933 in Montpelier Ohio. Sharon graduated from Montpelier High School in 1951.
She married the late William J Draper in 1953, and they lived together in Bryan, Ohio for 50 years. Sharon is survived by 2 children Scot Draper (Richelle) of Mint Hill NC and David Draper of Columbus Ohio along with one grandchild, Eli Draper whom she adored along with a niece Lori (Warren) Galla of Medina Ohio. Sharon was preceded by her loving husband in 2002 and older brother, Herbert Rundell Johnson.
Sharon worked for ARO Equipment Corp for 51 years as an executive secretary for multiple presidents and division heads. She remained in close contact with many friends after retirement. Sharon also served as secretary for the John C. Markey charitable fund. She was actively involved in her children’s activities which included serving as President of Bryan Swim Team for one year. You would often find the Drapers In the stands cheering their boys on in all of their sporting events.
Sharon enjoyed spending fall Saturday mornings attending the University of Michigan football games (GO BLUE) and tailgating with friends. Other activities included golfing and was a member of Orchard Hills Country Club. She was pretty good at golf where she even achieved a “hole in one”. Later in life she enjoyed going to dinner, plays and casino road trips with friends. In Retirement, one could often find her at the salon getting her hair done and nails painted.
Everyone that knew Sharon loved her. She will always be remembered as sweet, funny and kind. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
The family will receive friends at their home on Saturday, April 15th from 2-5 pm for a celebration of Sharon’s life. McEwen Mint Hill Chapel can be reached for details.
