Sarah Johnson Smith

Sarah was born in Jefferson, SC, on April 16, 1942, to the late Russell B. Johnson and Nell D. Johnson. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ila Sue Reese. Sarah was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was an avid member of First Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC, since 1995 where she was an active member of the "God Chasers" Sunday School class and Life Group Bible Study. She was a faithful servant of God and made thinking of other people first and giving to others a top priority. She was also a true prayer warrior and had a passion for gardening and flowers.

Survivors include her husband and soulmate of 51 years, Jerry L. Smith; her daughter, Stacy S. Furr and husband Robert E. Furr, Jr.; two grandsons, Garrett B. Smith and Matthew R. Furr; one sister, Edith J. Roper; two brothers, John W. Johnson and Dwight R. Johnson. Also surviving are seven nieces, six nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12 - 2pm, Saturday, December 10, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC, funeral service will be at 2pm, same day and location as above, burial will follow the funeral service at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC.
