Roy Lee Johnson

Roy was a graduate of Olympic High School in Charlotte, NC in 1968 and attended Central Piedmont Community College. Following graduation Roy served in the United States Navy. Roy will always be remembered being a kind, loving heart and was a wonderful brother, husband and friend. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and at the beach.

Roy loved music, books and movies. He was a musician, song writer and was a local musician for over 20 years in the Charlotte area.

Roy was preceded in death by his father William Loomis Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Faye Briley Johnson; Mother Mildred Kirby Johnson; siblings Dixie Sullivan and Jeff (Jeanna) Johnson; step-children Gary (Becky) Bowker, Terry (Patrick) Warren, Bob (Leasa) Burleson and Rhonda (Germano) Knox; many nieces and nephews; 11 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his beloved minature schnauzer Dolly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 29, 2020 at Gloryland Baptist Church, 3001 Gloryland Avenue, Charlotte beginning at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gloryland Baptist Church or Cancer.org.

Arrangements are under the care of McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park.
