Ronald “R.D.” Dean York, 70, of Charlotte, NC, passed away October 18, 2022 in Mt. Holly, NC. Born May 4, 1952 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of Robert Brooks and Ruth (Harwood) York.

A graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, R.D. retired from Duke Power Company after more than 30 years of employment. He was a member of Hills Chapel United Methodist Church in Lowesville, NC.

R.D. enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his son, Matthew (Mandy) York; grandchildren, Maddison York and Matthew York Jr.; brothers, Warren (Deb) York and Daryl (Vanessa) York; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Becky York; son Robby York and brother, R.B. York Jr.

Funeral service 12 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Visitation 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com.
