Robert Dickey Ross Sr.

Born September 17, 1929 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lilly McGinn Ross. He was a member of Harrison United Methodist Church. He served in the National Guard, and spent his career as a dairy farmer working on the family farm along with his brother, Bill Ross. After retiring in 1991, he enjoyed woodworking, traveling and vegetable gardening. Bob was a daily presence at the family farm, where he will be terribly missed by Ross Farms staff and many customers.

Remembered as a loving father and grandfather, he is survived by his children Robert D. Ross, Jr. (Cathy) and Claudia T. Ross; his grandchildren Andrew and Greyson Ross and Summer Little (Andrew); and a great granddaughter, Coraline Ross; and close family friends Harriett Burns and Robin Nance.

He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Timberlake Ross; his brother, William E. Ross and sister, Mary Ross Byrum.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 5, at Harrison United Methodist

Church in Pineville. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, December 8 at 2:00pm at Youngsville Cemetery in Youngsville, NC.
