Robert (Bobby) Rose, 76 years old, died in his home on August 7, 2023, from cancer. The funeral service led by Elias Roochvarg, Cantor Emeritus at Temple Israel, will be held at the Hebrew Cemetery Chapel, 1801 Statesville Avenue, Charlotte, at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 10, 2023.
Bobby, the son of the late Albert Rose and late Phyllis Apple, was born in Greensboro, NC. He moved to Charlotte with his mother and two sisters in 1960. He married Carolyn Brumfield in1968, whom he met when both attended Nevins, a vocational school for adults with intellectually and developmental disabilities. Bobby worked at Charlotte Memorial Hospital, now Atrium, for 44 years before retiring.
Always enamored with law enforcement, Bobby attended the Charlotte Citizens Police Academy, graduated from its program in June, 2013, and volunteered once a week at Charlotte Police Headquarters to support the DARE program.
Bobby was a long-time member of the Leon Levine Jewish Community Center at Shalom Park, where he regularly walked the indoor track and worked out.
Bobby’s sisters, Sharon Rose Powell and Susan Rose Marcus, and Bobby’s wife, Carolyn, invite you to join them for condolence refreshments in the Hebrew Cemetery Chapel following the burial service on August 10. Please RSVP [email protected] if you plan to attend.
