As the full moon begins to wane in the wee hours of the morning here by Ocean Beach, just as we pass into the summer equinox, we think of you as we gaze at the horizon. We cherish the brief and fleeting moments we got to share with you. Time moves so fast when you are raising children, as you know! Yet your grandson will carry those moments with him through the rest of his life and he will honor you, as he does, in his way. Rita was one of a kind person!  I met Rita at one off her son's Bar Mitzvah and our friendship blossomed over the 60 years I knew her.  We were SISTERS by the true meaning.  We walked in each other's shoes many a time.

I miss her already; she knew all my secrets and I knew hers, sworn never to tell, even death.  I was coming to visit and sing & tell our stories with her over the July 4th weekend.  I guess the saying is forever true, "don't put off tomorrow what yu can do today."

To know Rita, you were a friend for life.  You knew when she would say, "I'll do anything for you, just ask". Loyal to enth degree, funny, wise beyond her time, charismatic and what a great cook, baker and woman of hospitality!!!  Her smile should have been in lights in the Dental magazines..

Gregg, I will misss your mom till the day I die. You were her angel in disguise!

It is so sad to learn of Rita's passing suddenly. Her grandson Stone was getting to know her and was looking forward to learning more about her. We are very saddened by this news as we were hoping to see her in person soon. Our family sends condolences to yours and we hope you have the support you need to get through this time. Although I have known Rita for only 6 months, I will truly miss her.  We spent time together several times a week and I will cherish the memories we made.
