Rachel Alline Snead

She was born October 16, 1939 in Rockingham, NC. She was the daughter of the late Dethaniel Mitchum and Edna Watts Mitchum.

Rachel married Frank E. Snead on October 6, 1956. They moved to Charlotte, NC in 1970. Rachel had a long career in manufacturing, and was a very valuable employee.

She is survived by her daughter Jane Snead (Tommy) Gaddis, and two sons Edward Eugene Snead, and Daniel Franklin (Gale) Snead and 6 grandchildren William T Gaddis II, Kasey L Gaddis of Lancaster, SC, Jeremy Mudd of Pleasant Hills, Iowa, Danielle Barrett of Monroe, NC, Mikey Snead of Clover, SC, and Sam Basaldua of Ft Mill, SC. She has 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.

Preceded in death, husband Frank E Snead; sisters Faye Simpson of Rockingham, NC, Ann Gulledge of Cordova, NC, and ChristineTyler of Loris, SC; brothers Jesse B Mitchum of Rockingham, NC, and Martin Mitchum of Rockingham, NC.

A service to celebrate Rachel’s life will be held at McEwen Funeral Home- Pineville Chapel,

10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 in the chapel at 11:00 am. The service will begin at 12:00 pm. The graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 3:00 pm in Rockingham NC at Richmond Memorial Park.
