Phillip “Phil” Wayne Keller, much-loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, of Charlotte, NC passed away on March 18, 2018 at home. He was born on February 7, 1954 to Joe Henley Keller and Anne McIntyre Keller.
Born in Salisbury and raised in Charlotte and Miami, Phil received a Bachelor’s in Transportation from the University of Miami. Phil was a dedicated and vital member of the transportation community having a successful career followed by becoming where he served as the General Manager of Transportation and Warehousing for Guy M. Turner, Inc.
Phil was an avid golfer having “meetings out of the office” along with golf retreats at Lake Lure and Santee with Bob and Joe, long-time friends and customers. A regular attendee of the Master’s, PGA Championship and Wells Fargo Championships, his co-workers sponsored a tournament in his honor, “That’s What Friends are Fore”.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Allison H. Keller, daughter Heather A. Harding of Jacksonville FL; mother, Anne M. Keller of Charlotte, NC; sister JoAnn Lester and her husband, Earl, of Cooleemee, NC; Bobby G. Keller and wife, Amanda, of Charlotte NC; fourteen nephews and nieces, Larry Canipe Jr., Brad Canipe, Chris Canipe, Joseph Keller, Catherine Keller, Julie Willis, Scott Lester, Kathleen Smith, Caitlin Killoy, Kelby Killoy, Caleb Barker, Josiah Barker, Noah Barker and Isabelle Barker.
In honor of Phil’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service. However, the family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210.
