Nancy Broome Williams, “Nana”, 66, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 8, 2015. A Service to honor her life will be celebrated at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park on Saturday, May 16, 2015 with visitation from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon with the service to be held at Noon.
Nancy was born on November 17, 1948 to the late Jack and Virgie Broome. She graduated from Garinger High School in 1967. Nancy and her childhood friend Vicki Callahan West ran a nursery until her three children went to school. She retired in 2011, after 25 years of service with the Mecklenburg County Tax Office. Since retiring, Nancy has enjoyed traveling with Carl, finding treasures at the Goodwill and eating out with her breakfast club and friends. Nancy was a fun loving person who never met a stranger. She had a contagious laugh and spread joy everywhere she went.
She is survived by her longtime love, Carl Wray Lovitt; by her three daughters, Angela Williams Thompson, Mandi Williams and April Williams; granddaughter, Alexus Creel; grandson, Zane Williams; Son-in-Law, Nathan Thompson; and by two brothers, Larry Broome and Jackie Broome.
