Mildred Williford, 85, of Charlotte, left her earthly body for a heavenly one on July 31, 2013, after a courageous battle with kidney disease. She was born on November 24, 1927 to Joseph Anthony Seaman and Mary Hill Seaman. She retired in 1988 after twenty nine years of service with Duke Power Company (now Duke Energy). She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Morgan (Ruel); two brothers, Douglas Seaman (Jane) and Eugene Seaman; three sisters, Frances Thompson, Lillian Seaman, Edna Gourley (Bob); two granddaughters, Lisa Spencer and Celina Stewart (Levi); two great-grandsons, Daniel Lines and Brandon Lines; step-son, Miles Williford (Norma); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wade Williford, brothers, Willard Seaman and Stuart Seaman; sister Louise Seaman. The family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Buehrig of Metrolina Nephrology and the staff at Davita South Dialysis for the care given to her during the past two years. Also a special thanks to Hospice & Palliative Care-Charlotte, for the outstanding care given to her during her final days. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was loved and will be missed by all. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 7:00PM - 9:00PM, at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11AM at Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, 2201 Springdale Avenue, Charlotte, NC, with the Reverend Nadine Ellsworth-Moran officiating, with graveside service will be held on Friday at 3:30PM, at Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery, 1372 Macedonia Church Loop, Nebo, NC.
