Melissa Jane Boucher

Melissa was born on October 9, 1981 in Tucson, Arizona then moved to Boston as a toddler. Her family moved to Mint Hill, North Carolina in 1983, so she's considered a local. However, Melissa is a Bostonian at heart.

She attended J.H. Gunn Elementary, Bain Elementary, Independence High School, then moved to Butler High School in their first graduating class.

Melissa was a die hard sports fan. Her favorite teams were the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Bruins. She loved NASCAR and NHRA Drag Racing. Melissa was known for her orange "DART" and her purple Challenger. You could often find her at local car shows with the Challenger.

Many knew her as an Ace Yahtzee player and sometimes, a sore loser. She completed over 200 puzzles since Covid and loved a good game of Rummy and Phase 10. If you were ever at Empire Pizza, Dunwellz, or Outback, you probably met Melissa.

She cherished being with her family and friends, and adored her dog Brady.

Melissa leaves behind her parents, Bernie and Jeanne Boucher; aunts and uncles, Barbara and Marc Boucher, Sue Boucher, Eleanor and Raymond Boucher, Jerry Boucher, and Denny Boucher; cousins, Paul, Mike, Tracy, Susan, Shane, and Josh.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Raymond and Marguerite Boucher and Richard and Jane Gaffey; uncles, Paul Boucher and Ricky Gaffey; aunts, Mary and Lea Boucher and cousin, Krystal.

Melissa's dog Brady was recently diagnosed with Diabetes, so in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to your local veterinarian for an insulin dependent pet.

Friends are welcome to stop by on Sunday, August 13th, 2023 between 1:00pm to 4:00pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. A remembrance service will take place at 2:00pm. In honor of Melissa, we're asking everyone to dress casual and wear your favorite team jersey and/or colors.
