Mr. Putnam, age 53, of Charlotte passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at CMC Main.
He was born July 9, 1958 in Taipei, Taiwan the son of Edwin K. Putnam and Billie McKinney Putnam. He is preceded in death by his sister, Laura Maria Putnam.
Mark graduated from Garinger High School and later furthered his education and learned to work with diesel engines. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his dogs, his favorite Wolfey, in particular. Mark was a member of Plaza Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted son, brother and friend and will be deeply missed by all.
Surviving are his mother, Billie M. Putnam; father, Edwin K. Putnam; brothers, Joseph Edwin Putnam and John Brian Putnam and wife Lisa; sister, Cynthia Putnam Carter; niece, Bonnie Carter and Kelleigh Putnam; nephews, Jared Putnam and George Putnam; and a great niece, Lily Marie Putnam.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2011in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in Mark’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
