Marilyn, affectionately known as Mom, Mimi, Great Mimi and occasionally ‘Grand Marnier’ lived a long and eventful life. She was always the life of the party. All her life she had a love of music and dancing. She was in a group called the ‘Dixie Belles’, in her twenties. They sang together all over Charlotte and on the radio. She also loved animals, especially dogs. Her faithful companion Sweet Pea has now taken up residence in Charleston with Laura and her family and is living the coastal life.
Marilyn was ever so proud of being the valedictorian of her high school class. She raised her four children to be respectful members of society and good human beings. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are her life’s legacy. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. We will forever carry her in our hearts.
There will be a celebration of her life this Summer, date to be determined.
