Born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Paul John Owens and Rosemary Gruss Owens on March 22, 1945, Peggy graduated from Regina High School in South Euclid. Ohio. She attended Cuyahoga Community College and John Carroll University.
After living in Atlanta from 1965-1970, Peggy moved to Charlotte, NC. She owned and operated Woodlawn Green Executive Services for over fifteen years.
Peggy had a great love of community. She was a previous member of the CFAC Committee for People with Disabilities. For years she was a member of the Nursing Home Advisory Committee of Mecklenburg County.
As a faithful member of St. Matthew Catholic Church since its inception, Peggy volunteered her time as an active member of the Pastoral Care team visiting Pineville Rehabilitation every month. She was a Eucharistic Minister and an active member of the Bereavement Committee and Centering Prayer group. Because of that group she began to meditate daily. The group that provided the most fun was the Pinochle Club. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and looked forward to each event.
Left to mourn her loss are her devoted daughter Christie, cherished grandchildren, Brianna, Rose (Sydney) and Finn (Lily); her siblings, Paul Owens, Sister Pam Owens CSJ, and Tom Owens, nieces Stacy and Lisa and nephews Mike and Paul.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Rosemary Owens, son Tim Quinn, daughter Robin Teahl, twin sister Pat Biltcliffe, favorite aunt Eleanor Peace, and Clayton Quinn.
A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for 11am on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Matthew Catholic Church located at 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway in Charlotte. The family will receive friends in the day chapel from 10-11 prior to Mass.
Condolences may be left for the family at www.McEwenPinevilleChapel.com.
