Mrs. Lois Tuttle Horne, 86, of Charlotte, passed away at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville on May 17, 2015. A native of Stokes County, NC, she was the daughter of Roland Cecil and Florence Mace Roemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Charlotte. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Cecil Tuttle and by her son-in-law, Timothy Alan Baker.
Mrs. Horne is survived by her husband of 64 years (nearly 65), Walter Lee Horne; by a daughter, Margaret “Ann” Horne Baker; by two grandsons, James Lee Baker of Charlotte and Wayne Allen and his wife Bridgett, of Bessemer City; by a sister, Ruth Avis Mabe and her husband Clyde of Charlotte. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held in the Charlotte Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Paul Moss officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Sharon Memorial Park. The family will also share in a time of fellowship and refreshment with friends following the interment, again, at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of the customary acknowledgments, the family requests that memorials be made to either of the following organizations: Bethel Baptist Church; 4801 Tuckaseegee Road; Charlotte, NC or to the Levine and Dickson Hospice House; 11900 Vanstory Drive; Huntersville, NC 28078.
