Larry Junior Riddle went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 24th, 2020. Larry was born in Erie, Michigan on January 21st, 1948 and moved to Kentucky as a young child where he grew up, finished school, and was drafted into the United States Military to serve in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. Larry served as a Lt. of Weapons Specialist in the US Army earning the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, as well as earning the rank as Expert in Pistol and Marksman for Rifle. After Larry returned from the war, he partnered with his brother Steve Riddle and opened Riddle Brother’s car dealership on Wilkinson Blvd. in Charlotte, NC. Larry also went on to serve the ministry as an Interim pastor, while he also became the operations manager for the Gastonia branch of Fed Ex for 17 years before retiring.
Larry is survived by his son, Larry Daniel Riddle; daughter, Joy Elizabeth Pang; his brother, Steve (Kathy) Riddle; sisters, Linda (Ralph) Keith, Ada Huddleston and Dorothy (Wade) Dyson. Larry is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Jourdan Schley, AJ Pang-Riddle, Krista Riddle, Raegan Riddle, Gracyn Riddle, Nickson Krajan, and Lucy Krajan, and a host of friends who will remember all of the good times they had to share with Larry.
Larry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Riddle; son, Chris Riddle; mother, Elizabeth Riddle; father, C. H. Riddle and brother, Arthur Riddle.
Funeral Service 12 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Visitation 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
