At an early age, Lalla became a member of Roanoke Baptist Church in Palmer Springs, VA.
She graduated from Warrenton High School in 1959. In 1960, Lalla married William Davis, Jr., which she affectionately called "Junior" and they moved to The Bronx, NY. William's job relocated the family to Charlotte, NC in 1972, where they raised their family.
Lalla worked at Sears in Human Resources for 29 years where she retired. Lalla was very instrumental in hiring young people, where she provided lasting inspiration in their early pursuits of job employment.
Lalla was a loving and caring family-orientated woman who cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and a host of other relatives at family gatherings. She also treasured her close friendships with former co-workers and neighbors. In her pass time she enjoyed doing word search puzzles and making sure her home was filled with love.
Lalla was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC where she attended Sunday School. She served on various ministries at church throughout her life and helped with preparing food for the less fortunate.
While in Charlotte, NC and Cumming, GA, Lalla was blessed with an abundance of love and support from her family and friends as her health required necessary attention. Her family and friends will truly miss the warmth of their dear and beloved one and are grateful to have been able to provide her much love, peace, and comfort through countless hours of prayer, singing and music.
Lalla was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Davis, Jr.
Lalla's unforgettable life and memories will be cherished by her son, Maurice (Cheryl) Davis of Cumming, GA; her daughter, Anitra Davis of Charlotte, NC; three grandsons, Marquel Davis, Ryan Davis, and William (Chris) Davis; one granddaughter, Nyla ( Isa Dews) Clemons; two great-granddaughters, Rubiya Dews and Kymeisha Dews; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Davis and Sara Hanks; and many other loving nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Lalla will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ebenezer Baptist Church , 2020 W Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. A committal service will occur following the funeral service at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 1504 W Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262.
