Mrs. Williams, 83, of Charlotte, NC, passed away April 26, 2012 at Hunter Woods Nursing and Rehab.
She was born April 14, 1929 in Iredell County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late James Washington Lackey and Carrie Mae Deal Lackey. Mrs. Williams was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved and cherished her family dearly. Her loving and kind spirit will always be remembered for loving and reaching out her hand to help anyone who was in need.
Mrs. Williams was a dedicated member of Third Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, Elder, Deacon, member of the Human Services Committee and Women of the Presbytery.
The Williams family will greet friends Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Third Presbyterian Church. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 3:00 PM from the sanctuary with The Reverend Jay T. Weigel, Senior Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Ernest Ray Williams; her five children: Randall Williams, Gayle Donahue, Stephen R. Williams, Carole Dellinger, David Williams; her grandchildren: Jeremiah Williams, Christopher Williams, Sean Donahue, Jason Williams, Ashley Houston, Adam Dellinger, Gregory Dellinger and Joshua Hasty; her great grandchildren: Isabella Williams, Oliver Williams, Ariel Irizarry, Alexandria Dean and Levi Houston; her brother, Roland Lackey and sister, Marion Drum of Iredell Co., NC; two brother-in-laws: Jerome and Charles Williams.
