Julia Moss Freeland

A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Plantation Estates, 733 Plantation Estates Drive, Matthews, NC 28105. Interment will be private.

She was born May 18, 1917 in Hyattsville, Maryland to the late Melvin and Opal Snellings Moss. Julia was a long time member of Sardis Presbyterian Church where she taught kindergarten for over 20 years. She was outgoing, had a love for life, her family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, loved the outdoors and could not wait to go camping every chance she got.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest P. Freeland; son Ernest P. Freeland II; brothers James Moss and Melvin Moss; sister, Mary Gettys; son-in-law, Richard Hardesty. Julia is survived by: son, Robert Freeland and special friend Judy Krahmer of Charlotte; daughter Judith Hardesty of Southport, NC; son, Joseph Freeland and wife Elaine of Locust Grove, VA; grandchildren; Kelley Hardesty, Rudd Hardesty, Robert Freeland II, Christy Shivel, Joseph Freeland II, Riley Freeland and Ernest Freeland III; Twelve great grandchildren.
