Oh Joy!
I hardly have room in this box to share just one memory when you were such a formative part of my whole childhood.
My mother's best friend and the "auntie" to us all. I could always drop in to visit and be greeted with a familiar and warm embrace. You made room for me to come into your home and play with your pets ! You were just....Family. 
You were my childhood softball coach, the familiar and infectious laughter from the living room at bridge nights, the laughter with my mother from the kitchen while working on church charity crafts,  and a fixture at my childhood church where I also returned to marry.  You were there then too! 
Your unfathomable loss as a mother in this life, also shaped me. I think I learned to endure suffering watching you. How you grabbed hold of joy and never lost your grace and kindness! You invested instead in the joy that God offered you- your family and precious grandchildren, your friendships, nature, and creating beautiful works of art through your needlepoint, crafting and knitting. You were there in my life-with precious heirlooms you knitted for my first child, just as you were when I graduated from high school and college- I have a collection of blankets and crafts from Joyce to mark every milestone and celebration! And those beautiful eggs and snowflakes still hang on my Christmas tree each year!
 We had a few meaningful talks as a child and then again as a young woman and what I remember was not just words of wisdom and sometimes sorrow,  but that you were sharing an honest and true moment with me and that translated to love and trust and respect. You made me, and I imagine everyone who knew you, feel worthy!
 Your laugh is what I remember the best though! As soon as I saw this posting, I heard your "Joyce" laugh! I will miss you here with us, but I will always be grateful that I was blessed to have you in my life and feel sure you have found peace at last with your beloveds who went before you.

She was  Grandmother to our son Brian. He became the grandson of her heart. We met and fell in love with her. What a kind and compassionate woman. We will miss our visits with Grandmother.  Rest in peace Joyce. 

We had many laughs over the years. Our circle times and at Myrtle beach  with the beach sisters. Rest well my friend and read all the cards I sent too you with love and friend. Good and faithful friend. God bless. Keep watch over us. 

My Heart is soo very heavy to come to work and not find you working your puzzle 😢 The last time I had the honor to care for you(Tuesday evening prior ) you smiled and told me with a grin, "you spoil me" and I replied yes I do because I love you and you responded "I love you too" I always greated you saying "Hello Beautiful!" and now I am forced to say "SIP 💜 Beautiful 😇 " I will never forget you, You will always remain in my heart 💖 My Deepest Sympathies and Prayers to the Family 🙏. It was a great pleasure being there for you all and especially for Mrs Beautiful. God Bless and give you Comfort and Strength in this difficult time.

You were like a second mother to me and I have loved you with all of my heart since we met when I was a senior in high school.  You always told me I was your first girl.  Throughout all of the heartaches that life threw your way, you never lost your kind and loving spirit.  Between the two of us, we gave Christi as much love as was humanly possible in her father’s absence and for that I will always be grateful.  You brought so much joy to me and all of my girls and we will miss you terribly.  I love you Mom Middleton.  

My memories of Joyce will always be of a sweet and loving woman who was a real-life Steel Magnolia!  Throughout her life challenges, she was strong, resilient, and always a blessing to her loving family and many friends.  She will be truly missed by all of us, but will remain forever in our hearts until we meet again!
