Joseph Quentin Coffman, 53, passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 24, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. Quentin was proud of being a Native Charlottean, having graduated from West Charlotte High School and UNC -Chapel Hill.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Kay Coffman, and father E K Coffman. Quentin is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Michele; sons Joseph Quentin Coffman Jr. and Austin Coffman of Charlotte. He is also survived by brothers Edward Coffman and his partner Betsy Flanagan of Pittsboro, NC, and William Coffman and his two sons Sean and Ryan of St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as dear friends and relatives too numerous to name. We will always remember with joy the hours of enjoyment he provided with his guitar and musical group.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Charlotte and Emily Dunbar RN, as well as physicians involved in his care, including Dr. Sridhar Pal, Dr. Leslie Webster, Dr. David Iannitti, Dr. Michael Gaspari, and Dr. Nayan Patel.
Family will receive friends on Monday, August 26, at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel from 4:00-6:00 pm. A private memorial for the family will be held on Tuesday.
