Joe Douglas King

Joe Douglas King, age 67, died in Charlotte August 13, 2019 due to complications from liver disease and sepsis infection. He was the son of Joe H. King (deceased) and Irene Dover. He is also survived by his brother Daniel Dover, first cousins Janice Gail Beaver and Dennis Biggers, stepfather James Dover, and ex-wife Dina.

Joe was born September 8, 1951, passing away less than a month before his 68th birthday. He was retired from the city of Charlotte where he conducted maintenance repairs to the county's libraries. Joe had a winning personality, always comfortable and well received in social settings and is greatly missed.

Joe's ex-wife Dina wrote this:

Joe, friend to many, stranger to none, is now in Heaven. No more pain to endure, his giving spirit will be missed. He was loved and cherished because of his open heart. He was always present for those he loved. Joe never hesitated to lend a helping hand, no matter how difficult the task, a listening ear no matter the hour, and open arms for a well needed hug. He led a simple life and was most happy amongst his cherished friends. Now he will be comforted by the lending hand of Jesus who will guide him safely home. God is good and merciful.

A memorial service for Joe King will be held at Eastway Baptist Church on Monday, August 26, at 2 p.m.
