Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Thursday, January 7th at Durham Memorial Baptist Church, Dr. David Turner officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11AM at the Church.
JoAnn was born January 11, 1937 in Winston Salem daughter of the late W. A. and Irene Speagle Cass. She was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church, Joy Sunday School Class, choir member, hand bell choir member, taught the Citizenship Class and played piano for the Lighthouse Quartet. JoAnn graduated from Wake Forest with a degree in education. She was a medical transcriptionist, formerly employed by Durwood Medical Clinic, Charlotte Plastic Surgery and Metrolina Nephrology and Samaritan’s Purse.
Survivors include Children, Sherri McGinn (Tim) of Indian Land, SC, Kathy Ferrell of Morganton, NC, and Wendy Henderson (Bryan) of Maiden, NC. and six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harvey (Connie) Dixon and one great grandchild.
