Joan Glover Turk, 91, passed away peacefully at the Levine & Dixon Hospice House on July 6, 2012. She was born on December 29, 1920 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Howard and Anna Glover.
Joan graduated from Woodbury University in Burbank, California. She met the late William R. Turk at Mac Dill Field, Florida where they were married on January 7, 1943. Her husband was a career Air Force pilot, and they lived in many places around the U.S. and Germany.
Joan was an accomplished seamstress and artist and was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Bill Turk and Jim Turk; five grandchildren, Dawn Hall, Christopher Turk, Katherine Turk, William Turk and Elizabeth Purdie; and five great grandchildren, Quinn Turk, Kathryn Turk, Caroline Purdie, Sarah Purdie and Hannah Purdie.
A private, family service will be held in celebration of Joan’s life at Matthews Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Charlotte Square and the Levine & Dixon Hospice House.
