Jean Mitchell Butler

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday November 30, 2013, at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Named after her grandmother, Jean was born Emma Jean Mitchell, at home on her family’s farm in Fairmont, North Carolina to parents, Medwin LeRoy Mitchell and Rebecca Nance Mitchell.

She attended Flora MacDonald College, married and became a homemaker. Later in life, she enjoyed a career with Belk Store Services, in Charlotte.

Jean was preceded in death by her five siblings, Daniel Homer Mitchell, Voncile Mitchell, Elbert Troy Mitchell, Mildred Geneva Mitchell, Bernice Bethea Mitchell, and by her daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Butler.

She is survived by her sons, Clifton Butler and wife, Sharon of Alpharetta, Georgia, Jeffrey Butler and wife, Kimberly of Charlotte, N.C. and her daughter, Jeanne Butler Stefansic and husband, William, of West Palm Beach, Florida, along with grandchildren, Brian Butler, Jenny Butler, Lauren Butler, Andrew Butler, Nathan Butler and Austin Butler.
