Janet Blankenship

She was born on February 28, 1929 in the Lower Providence area of Mecklenburg County. Janet was the daughter of the late Calvin O. Hall and Isabelle Howey Hall. She was predeceased by her husband William Ferris Blankenship, Jr., sister Sue Marus and Brother Ted Hall.

She is survived by her children Ann Timmerman (Davis), William Ferris Blankenship, III (Denise), Julie Bunch (Matthew) and Jayne Deaver. Also, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild due in June.

Mrs. Blankenship was a graduate of Pineville High School and Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. She was an OR Nurse after graduation. She was a homemaker for years raising her four children and also helping out in the family business, Blankenship Feed and Seed. She also worked as an RN for the American Red Cross.

Mrs. Blankenship loved Ocean Isle beach where she and her husband owned a vacation home. they had many good friends there and enjoyed spending many summers there with family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S. Polk St., Pineville, NC 28134 at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Honorary Pallbearers will be J. R. Miller, Sr., Tom Rea, Sr., John Rea, Sr., Joe Griffin and Stuart Elam.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Pineville United Methodist Church and Hospice of Union County.
