Mr. James “Jimmy” Wright, son of the late Elizabeth and Willis Wright, Sr., was born on December 18th, 1956 in Washington D.C. On May 29th, 2021 James Wright slipped into eternal rest, loved by all that knew him.
Jimmy grew up in Hartford, CT where he attended Thomas Snell Weaver High School. Jimmy had an affinity for writing and spelling. On any given day you could find him learning to spell new words or you would find papers around his home with new words written on them so he would never forget. Jimmy was a master speller.
Jimmy also loved his family and he would walk from one end of the city to the other end of the city, just to see his family and say, “Hi.” It didn’t matter who you were in the family. It didn’t matter whether you were the first, second, or third cousin’s wife. If you were family and he knew where you lived, he was stopping by, Jimmy never met a stranger
He was predeceased by his two brothers Willis Jr. and Larry Wright. He is survived by two brothers Gregory and Curtis (Jesslyn) Wright of Charlotte, NC and three sisters Diane Richardson (Curtis) of Amelia Island, FL and Joy and Darlene Wright of Charlotte, NC. He also leaves one aunt, Velma Brown (Allen) of Durham, NC and a cousin Katherine Mcrae (aka “Aunt Kat) of Charlotte, NC as well as a host of nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
We love Jimmy and will miss him.
