James Stephen Ryan

James Stephen Ryan, 57, passed away on Wednesday, July 15th, 2015 in Rapid City, SD where he enjoyed living for 12 years. He had a strong connection to the Sioux Indians and spoke their language fluently. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God in Rapid City.

Many were rewarded by Jim’s accomplished musical talents through song writing and highly acclaimed classical guitar skills. They were truly a rare gift which he shared through performances as well as student instruction.

As a long-time Charlotte resident, he received his BA in Music, cum laude, at UNCC.

All arrangements are managed by Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212. Visitation is on Wednesday, July 22, from 1:00-2:00. A casual service, (in attire and structure) is at 2:00. We welcome anyone who would like to share a “Jimmy story” or offer a tribute. Immediately following the burial, a celebration of life will be held at the home of a good friend.

Jim is predeceased by his father, John Ryan, his mother Jean Ryan, and his brother, Jeffrey Ryan. He is lovingly remembered by his brother Jack Ryan and his son Jack, Jr., his sister Janet and her husband Tom Green, as well as his many cousins and fine friends.
