Jim was always so much fun to be around.  He was smiling and laughing.  It was such a pleasure to talk with him.  I was so sad when I learned of his passing.  Family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Love, Mary Grindstaff, a neighbor.

I just learned of James death on this past Wednesday, May 26, 2021.  I was so shocked and saddened of the news.  My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you.  He was such a nice and friendly person.  He will really be missed.  He and Tammy were such special people.  May God comfort you through this.

James was introduced to the neighborhood some years ago and started working with many who lived at the Villas at Summerlake. Turns out he was at Providence Day when my girls were there. He was so much fun to talk to and did amazing work around my villa - planned and planted where I had old overgrown plants and every fall/spring planting flowers that got so many compliments from friends and neighbors. He and his purple truck will be missed!

I'm so sorry to hear that James past.  I knew James by working at the city with his wife Tammy. He came to my wedding over 27 years ago, and placed sod on my front lawn as a wedding gift.  The little contact I had with James over the years was always pleasant and joyous.  God now has a great landscaper to care for his beautiful gardens! 

Jim was a special part of my teenage years.  He was the one who was always looking for fun.  His smile and sense of humor are vivid memories that I am sure he continued to share throughout his  life.    I had the pleasure of meeting his wife twice when they visited Chicago.  She was a sweet woman.  It is so unfortunate that both their lives were cut short.  My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. 

With fondness I wanted to share how much I appreciated my time in knowing James when he was with Providence Day School. He always connected in honest and real ways with me, he valued making the campus and world a better place, and he has always remained in my thoughts.  The Providence Day School community was a better place having known James and he is missed!

James Drozd was my neighbor and my friend for 24 years. He shared his knowledge of plants and his tools whenever I asked him. I loved James like a brother and our family is heartbroken over the loss of him.  Our only consolation is he is united once more with his beloved wife, Tammy. Rest in peace my friend and GOD willing, We will meet again at the Resurrection.

My Dear Drozd family and friends, my heart is aching for you. I'm so sorry for the pain and sorrow you are going through losing your wonderful Jimmy. I will always remember that beautiful baby who grew up to be such a beautiful man. James,  we will truly miss you at all our family get togethers and special events.  When you became a part of Tammy’s life, you became a part of our family.  I am so glad the last words I said to you was “I love you” and you said “See ya kiddo”.

To my Dear Lifelong Friends The Drozd  Family,
I will never forget the first time I saw Jimmy.He was a newborn baby sleeping in his crib and he had the longest beautiful eyelashes so the of course it was not a  surprise to me when he grew up as handsome as he did. Over the years we have spent many fun family times together seeing our children grow up.                                                                  
 Now I cannot find the right words to express my deep sorrow and sympathy for the loss of your beautiful son and a great brother.
I pray for God to give all of you the strength and courage  during this most difficult time.

I had the pleasure of helping James on several occasions when 
I worked at an Outdoor Power Equipment dealership. It was never a dull moment when he came in and he always left everyone in a better mood.  He will be greatly missed

I used to work in landscape supply and Mr. Drozd would always put a smile on my face when he pulled up in his purple truck... One of the few relatively sane yet insane people I talked to those days.

To James family, I will sorely miss your son, your brother, your father.  I met James working a job I was passing by. I was in desperate need of a landscaper so I stopped. It was fate.  I was so full of ideas but he had other ones. His enthusiasm was infectious and I gave him free reign.  We bantered back and forth as if we had known each other forever. On the plus he was a Cubs fan and we were originally from Illinois.  I am fortunate to sit on my porch and have his imprint in my life forever.  Thank you James
