Mr. Jack Thomas King

IN LOVING MEMORY

Jack Thomas King (Pop) was born February 9, 1950 in Charlotte to Jack and Juanita King. When Jesus reached out for Jack in the early morning hours on February 13th, he was in the arms of his family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 45 plus years Karen King, Daughter and Son-in-law Shannon A. King and Anthony “Tony” Godwin, Grandsons and light of his life Wyatt J. and Colton J. Godwin, Mother Juanita King, Brother Donald E. King (Jean), Sister Sally K. Kiker (Jimmy), Mother-in-law Joan Thomas, Brother-in-law Buddy Thomas. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Honorary Children Tracey and Julie Barker, Tom and Elena Spencer. Honorary Grandchildren Morgan and Blakely Barker, Drew and Avery Spencer.

Jack retired from Siemens Energy (Westinghouse) in November 2015 as a Maintenance Supervisor after 45 years of service. He graduated from West Meck H.S., attended United Electronics Institute and Gaston College. He was a member of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church. He loved his family above all, the outdoors, hunting and fishing and was a licensed boat captain. For the last ten years he has been a member of the Bramble Bush Hunt Club in Lynchburg, SC where he enjoyed farming for wild life and demonstrating to others respect for nature. Jack was a humble man who quietly served others in so many ways.

A celebration of his life will be held February 20, 2016 at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte 28208. Honored Guests will be past and present members of Bramble Bush and the Siemens Maintenance Department. Lunch will be served for friends and family immediately following the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations are requested for NCLEAP in Memory of Jack T. King, 6255 Towncenter Dr, Ste 651 Clemmons, NC 27012, St. Jude Hospital or Hospice in memory of Jack T. King.
