Iris Josephine Hill

She was born January 22, 1916 in Catawba, Co., NC to James and Vera Dellinger Hicks.

Mrs. Hill taught elementary school in High Point for 40 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved to volunteer her time to help others and was involved in several organizations in the High Point area. She loved to travel throughout the US and Europe. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Dobbins of Charlotte; her son, Tucker Hill and wife Chris of Valrico, FL, her four grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wyatt Hill, and her brother, Jay Hicks.

A memorial service will be held in her honor 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 19, 2011 in Aldersgate, Ray Hall Community Center Chapel, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. The Reverend Karen Moore will officiate.
