Irene Ross Reynolds

Irene Ross Reynolds, 93, of Oak Island, NC passed away peacefully on June 14, 2015 surrounded by her children at her home. Irene was born January 27, 1922 in Charlotte, NC to the late Marvin E. and Gertrude Ann Ross.

She was a loving wife and mother of five and a lifelong resident of Charlotte, NC. Prior to her retirement to Oak Island, Irene was a member of Belmont Park United Methodist Church which later became University City United Methodist Church. During WWII she worked at Western Union in Charlotte, California and Chicago.

Irene leaves to cherish her memory, her loving family; sons Howard Dane Reynolds (Sylvia) and Jeffrey L. Reynolds (Teresa), and daughters Donna Holt (Michael), Christy Robertson and Lisa Jenkins (Henry); 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard J. Reynolds in 1996, her brother Marvin E. (Jack) Ross, and her infant sister, Holland Ann Ross.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC with Rev. Gary Wyrick officiating.

In lieu of the customary memorials, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 6000 Fairview Rd # 648, Charlotte, NC 28210 or to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
