Imogene Braswell "Gene" Mullis

“Nana” was born on January 25, 1917 in Peachland, NC. She grew up in Wingate and was a graduate of Wingate High School. She was a member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church and the Fred Brown Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie W. Mullis, in 1989.

She is survived by daughters, Lynnette (Tom) Pritchard of Mint Hill, Marti Wyatt of Georgetown, SC, and Elaine (Drick) Heitman of Ocala, FL; sons, Jerry (Millie) Mullis and Wayne (Cathy) Mullis, all of Mint Hill; grandchildren, Katie Heitman (Tyler) Underwood, Elec (Debbie) Pritchard, Johnathan (Heidi) Pritchard, Trey Wyatt, Chris (Alina) Wyatt, Jerry (Laura) Mullis, Jason (Sarah) Mullis, Brent Widenhouse, and Andy Widenhouse; great-grandchildren, Madeleine (Jason) Fox, Lauren, Matthew , Olivia, Caroline, and Ameleah Pritchard, Sally, Ruby, Cutter, Jessie, Oliver, Pearl, and Eli Wyatt, Jessie, Max, Sarah Claire, John and Robert Mullis, Lindsey Ammons, and Ally O’Quinn.

The family will gather to receive friends at Philadelphia Presbyterian church on Sunday, February 9, 2013 beginning at 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary with the Rev. Lee Koontz officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to either Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, Hospice and Palliative Care – Charlotte Region or the Bain Academy Restoration Fund.
