Hubert Clark Holmes

Mr. Hubert Holmes, 81, of Matthews, passed away on May 2, 2016. A native of Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late Whirley Clark and Addie B Holmes. He was actively involved in Real Estate Sales for most of his career. He was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Thomson Holmes, and by a brother and two sisters.

Mr. Holmes is survived by his son Clark Holmes of Mint Hill; by a daughter, Olivia Hopkins and her husband Hampton of Matthews; and by two brothers, George Holmes of Tampa, Florida and Vester Holmes of Los Cerritos, California. Three grandchildren, Christie Holmes of Raleigh and Sam and Meg Hopkis of Matthews also survive him. Numerous nieces and nephews are left to cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Interment will be private.
