Hoyt Bradley “Brad” Fincher Jr. went to be with the Lord during the early morning hours on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Brad was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He touched
many lives over the years with his warmth, love, and generosity.
He was born on May 21, 1945 to Hoyt Fincher Sr. and Marie Bolick Fincher in Charlotte, North Carolina. Brad graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1963, and later attended the University of Maryland.
He faithfully served his country in the United States Army from 1963 until 1969. He subsequently had a long and successful career in the sales and motive power industries.
In his free time, Brad loved to shag dance and take family trips to the Carolina coast. He was also a car enthusiast and had a passion for restoring antique cars and trucks.
At the center of Brad’s world was his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of thirty-five years, Layne Fincher; daughter Nikki Fincher (Todd); stepsons Clay Barnhill (Georgie) and Matt Barnhill (Sandy); and sisters Pat Connors (Bob) and Sandy Forrest (Steve). He is also survived by his grandchildren Casey Barnhill, Vance Barnhill, Michael Shields, Aidan Stafford, Kylar Stafford, and Ava Stafford, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. He also loved his many “fur-babies” throughout his life.
A service to celebrate Brad’s life will be held on at 2pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Sharon Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial immediately following at Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Brad’s memory to the ASPCA or your charity of choice.
